For a sustainable development

First draft
Green Technology Group´s mission is to contribute to a sustainable development through research in chemistry. The first main research direction is the development of environmentally sustainable extraction, biocatalysis and particle formation processes to upgrade biomass waste to high-value products. Target biomass samples are forestry, agricultural and fishery byproducts and wastes. The second research direction is the production of nano/micro particles and surfaces using supercritical carbon dioxide as a solvent or precipitation media.
Applications are found in drug, food and cosmetics, as well as in packaging, textiles and building materials. Developed processes are faster and environmentally more sustainable than current processes. Central for GTG research is the use of supercritical carbon dioxide and pressurized hot water and ethanol as processing media. These solvents have minor environmental impact, and they enable fast and efficient processes as described in more detail below.
